Best foods for sleep include dairy, cereal, white rice, cheese and crackers, salads, and kale.
Worst foods are those that contain caffeine (including chocolate). Avoid coffee/caffeine after noon. Also avoid large portions within two hours of bedtime and high-protein meals or foods that worsen heartburn or reflux. These include tomato-based foods, acidic foods, and fatty meals.
